I've seen these occasionally for sale and often wondered and finally couldn't resist. For me, in addition to shaving well, aesthetics matter. I can recommend to any current manufacturer that you put your logo on the top of the top cap. And if you don't have a logo create one! Wade & Butcher's is timeless.
Another nice touch is how the threaded stud was pinned to the top cap, a stylized square set diagonally. You can see it ever so slightly recessed in the center of the cap topside. The two other pins do not show at all. I don't care why they did it this way but I do care that they did.
So it takes a special blade. But I'm a Feather guy. Adapting a Feather was easily accomplished with a cuticle scissor, mine's made in Solingen. Wear safety classes because this operation will send metal trimmings flying in all directions.
So with a fresh Feather she's a fairly mild shaver but efficient. You can cut yourself if you try but you are unlikely to do so if any care is given to your technique. There are days I want an autopilot razor like this so she's a keeper.
If you've ever thought about buying a Wade & Butcher DE, next time you see one don't hesitate. It's well made and a razor not everybody has in their arsenal. Highly recommended.
