So in another post around here I mentioned I had a knot for sometime awaiting a handle. I couldn't really find anything that caught my eye and most of the natural materials I wanted were too expensive. I opted for synthetics and wow do I love this handle.
This particular handle is a blend of red and yellow glow in the dark pigment. It came out really well and has a beautiful orange appearance that fades from red at the bottom into yellow at the top. The style is a chubby handle spin off. It's larger than a chubby in height which really aids in a firm grip. I love my Simpson chubby 2 but the handle is a smidge too short. This solves that.
The brush is extremely radiant in the sun and glows like a wolf's eyes in the darkness. I don't have any nighttime shots as my phone's camera doesn't capture the glow too well. My knot fits perfect and it's now my best face lathering brush.
The taller hourglass handle is a custom based on a Labradorite gem my wife likes. That is her brush used for her legs. The handle shape is really nice for slippery shower conditions. The knot bloomed perfectly and provides just the right amount of loft for good lather release during leg shaving. My wife is no brush expert but she says it's the best brush she's used.
The purple and yellow handle is a spare glow in the dark handle. I've not yet decided it's fate. Maybe I'll send a brush to my mom.
Overall I am happy with my brushes and with the MERshaving experience. Great guy to work with. Super communication and a pleasure dealing from start to finish. If you're in the market for a new brush give him a try. .
