I have an old iMac that has a good size library of music on it and years ago I would manually sync my iPhone with it with the cable and I would have all of the songs on both the computer and the phone. I moved and subsequently don't use the iMac anymore. It has been in the box at my in laws for a couple of years. I have been through a few newer iPhones since then but the music app on the phone only recognizes some of my recent purchased songs. I want to fire up the old computer again and get all the songs from the computer onto my new iPhone.
Is is there any danger into just plugging them in together? I think I remember hearing somewhere that if I do that and the info on the phone and computer is different that the phone library may be erased or vice versa... Don't know. I don't use a computer now and just want all of my music that I have obtained through the years to be on my current iPhone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
