We had a cold front move in yesterday afternoon, by the time I got home it was windy, gray and 40*F out. So it felt like a good night for Ogallala Bay rum and sandlewood. I've used it twice before - once with terrible results (bad first pass, lathered up TOBS for subsequent passes). The second time was much better, but the second pass was lacking, the third was dissapointing...
Last night changed it up, I bloomed it for a few minutes, then used my barely wet badger (went with my TGN finest F2 with short loft, had nice backbone) and loaded like a mad man. Then I loaded a bit more. Moved to a bowl to build lather and added a little water. Started looking good, got my face wet and lather/loaded up. It was fantastic! The lather was slick, and thick. I had enough left over for a 4th and 5th pass at least! Understand, I have no problem having leftover lather if the shave is worth it, and boy was it! Finished it off with Suavecito Bay Rum (pretty good stuff, I like the smell and feel of Bootlegger's better, but this stuff smells stronger and lasts for a while).
Just felt like posting because I have been avoiding my Ogallala because the shaves weren't very good, but that's all changed!
I got Ogallala to work!
