Well, after months of wet shaving, I finally came around to buying this Austrian-made (I believe) soap. Please take in mind that this is my first impression of the soap, and it is by no means a complete review as I have only had one shave with it. I will hopefully continue to expand my review as my time with this soap has increased.
My first impressions are based on several aspects. As you know, YMMV applies to everything, and my opinions and experience may or may not reflect yours.
And so, here is my first impressions for Haslinger Coconut!
Packaging - Not much to say here --- its a puck of soap wrapped in plastic. Its simple, its pleasing, and it works.
Product as advertised - Yes! 60g of soap is a great all around size. It will fit in most containers!
Scent - Amazing. This is my first coconut scented product, and I love it. Upon first whiff, I was reminded of a surf shop.
Lather-Ability - This soap practically lathers itself. I loaded for 20 seconds, and had enough lather for 4+ passes.
Lather Stability - Again, awesome. Not only is the lather dense and heavy. It is "elastic" and holds its shape.
Slickness - Great slickness! Stirling Soaps, to me are extremely slick, however, this soap could very well be on par with Stirling.
Cushion - Cushion was excellent. I never felt like I was in danger of nicking myself during the shave.
Post-Shave Feel - Post-shave was good. My face felt refreshed, smooth, and moisturized.
Overall, Haslinger Coconut provided an excellent shave, and I expect it to improve more as I get it dialed in. Stay tuned for updates.
