(...as opposed to the width of the edge.)
As always, relatively new to straights and very new to honing, so my apologies if this is a stupid question...
Does the depth of the razor's edge - essentially the distance from the tip of the edge measured back toward the spine - vary from razor to razor, or should this be uniform?
I set the bevel and honed a new acquisition today - a Premier "lifetime" razor - and when I look at it compared to some of my other blades, the actual edge seems smaller. Shorter, I guess.
Is this just the difference of geometry of a given razor - ie the relationship between the spine and the edge?
I had never taken note of there being differences before, so I'm curious if it's an indication of a problem or if that's just how it is between different razors. I have not put the Premier to my face yet, but it did treetop armhair very well after I honed it.
Thoughts?

The "depth" of the edge.
