Many, many moons ago, I reluctantly gave up shaving with a straight razor. I was very happy with it. After about two years use, I started having trouble keeping a good edge on the sucker. Stropping and whetstone just didn't seem to work.
Since then, I've been using whatever brand of cheap plastic drugstore razor that was on sale. I hate them!
Now I'm going to go the safety razor route. I'm considering Edwin Jagger DE89, Merkur 34c, Merkur Progress, or the Gillette Slim or Fatboy. Also will be looking for a decent brush. Hoping I'm going in he right direction. Thanks for reading.
