I received this set as my first real wet shaving kit. The brush is really well made the handle is a work of art, however I can't get myself to love the pure badger knot. It is 21mm and not densely packed. It has plenty of scratch and zero backbone. It just isn't working well anymore, I remember it being better than this in the beginning it may have just gotten too soft? Now that I have many higher end brushes I can barely bring myself to use it!
But if I replace the knot with a finest or silver tip from the golden nib, this brush would be perfect. Is this feasible/worth it? Anyone tried it on this particular brush? The only 21mm knot they have is the finest and it looks really cool. Or maybe I have the wrong technique for a pure brush?
