I went looking for a cheap shave bowl a few days ago. I had read on a couple of posts here, that a plastic molcajete from walmart works pretty good. Well, I found two different types that they had in stock. One was a little bigger, double wall insulated & made in USA. The other was smaller, single wall, & made in China. What was interesting was that they nested beautifully. I decided to make a scuttle using these bowls and it worked out pretty good. I cut the lip on the inner bowl to have a fill area, & epoxied the lips together. It keeps my lather nice and warm. Another advantage, the smaller bowl has small ridges that help in producing lather. I thought it worked out well for a total of $2.00 spent. Anyway, I thought someone might want to try the same. It's not pretty but it works.
