I have been reading all the posts about Alum Blocks here on B&B lately. I was talking about it with my daughter and she pulled out a crystal Lafes deodorant stick. She said she never used it and that I could have it. I read the one ingredient and it was Potassium Alum. I said to myself, "Oh Yeah it's not Ammonia Alum and the same thing as the blocks they sell for shaving"! I immediately noticed and liked the convenient easy to apply smooth stick shape. I couldn't wait to give it a go!
So, two days ago I shaved, splashed cold water on my face, whetted the alum and rubbed my face with it. I let it dry while I cleaned my equipment, rinsed off with cold water, applied witch hazel and let that mostly dry, and applied my aftershave to moisturize. The great thing is I can do my pits real quick after my face and kill two birds with one stone!
The results so far it has given me a slight but noticeable edge for a clearer complexion like many of the suits I see who shave everyday with perfect skin tone. I'm definitely hooked and a believer!
