It's possible to really complicate and overthink a simple process. I shower, I shave in the shower, I rinse and dry myself. Then I apply aftershave. Witch hazel is often substituted for the AS. You can mix in AS WH 25-75% to give it a nice smell.
You might ask yourself. What is this product or process doing? If it's making you happy that's fine. Some folks take an hour to shave. I take 2-3 minutes. I enjoy it but I just don't have the time.
