I've been using a paddle strop for nearly 2 years now and have never really been that happy with it as it has a couple of "dips" in it that look like they were folds or something in the leather. It has worked ok, but I wanted to try some better leather on this one and go for a hanging strop.
I finally decided to order some leather so I found a 3" x 42" piece on the bay for about $17, I figure I can make 3 out of it and I still have some of the scrap leather I used for a seat cover on a motorcycle build that I'll also incorporate along with
some brazing rod I had in the barn.
I used some heat and a vice to get those bent into a couple of D rings and I'll solder those and stitch everything together tomorrow. The D rings aren't perfect but they'll work.
