I'd like to thank Ed and Eezee for the suggestion. It was worth trying, but I don't think I'll ever have it again--I sent the rest of the bottle home with my brother-in-law, who really liked it. It was too medicinal for my tastes. I think next year I'll stick with the recommendation I got at the liquor store and try a calvados.
