Labor Day 2014 I started my DE journey. In reality I started in the late 60s by using my Dad's Gillette adjustable (I think it was Slim). I "learned" by watching him ... Wash face, smear on some Barbersol, one quick pass N-S. That's all I knew. Like most of us I ventured into carts and disposables ... even electrics. Shaving was a chore. Looking for something better, I stumbled onto the B&B forum. It was like the clouds opened up. I learned so much from you guys as well as the YouTube go-to videos from Mantic59, Nick Shaves, and Geofatboy. I've never looked back. I'm at a point where it's BBS everyday with no irritation. BTW ... I alternate between a 66 Slim and Merkur 34C. Last April I ventured into straights. After many shaves, I have to say that I'm getting close to what I experience with my DE shaves. Although, I can only use a straight on weekends due to time. I learned the hard way that it's not in your best interest to rush a straight shave. When I retire in a few years, I might use straights exclusively.
Anyway ... thank you B&Bers. Your advice, guidance, and words of encouragment opened new doors for me. I look forward to my daily shaves now.
