Ive been a DE shaver for a couple years now, and have recently entered the world of using a straight. It seems like a pretty vertical learning curve, but all well worth it. On that note though, I'm not entirely sure about the saving $$ part when it's all said and done.
After using Merkur DE's, then a Whipped Dog setup, I now continue the learning with a Hart Steele SE.
