Hello all.
I thought I would finally join up again, I once made an account here many years ago when I first got into wet shaving (never posted) but have long since forgotten it so I have decided to create a new one and would like to think I am much more mature now than I once was (well one could only hope).
I think what fascinates me most is the extraordinary wealth of information which can be discovered and shared here which has been passed on from generation to generation in a gentlemanly manner.
Wet shaving has become quite a passion for me and I have found myself spending quite a bit of time and money on it lately which I intend to speak about and share with as I experience more and when I feel I can contribute to this fine forum in an intelligent manner.
Ironically I am sporting a hobo beard right now but hopefully will get back into it and finally find my sweet spot some day.
When I first started wet shaving I was finding it difficult to feel motivated but I guess now that I have aged and matured I seem to gravitate more to the art of shaving in an old worldly charm.
I have since managed to gather a modest little collection (some of which I have not used yet) of which I am eager to try and use.
What lured me into wet shaving was the comfort of an irritation free shaving experience and tapping into an old more refined and gentlemanly experience. I have to admit my grandfather and father also had somewhat also influenced me with their tales of shaving and heritage. Sadly my grandfather passed away a few years prior to me delving into this world of wet shaving as I am sure he would have loved to share in it with me and also I would have loved to have been able to give him my own personal barber shave experience.
I think its really wonderful that wet shaving has seen somewhat of a revival as its now much much more accessible than it once was in Australia (perhaps it is different around other parts of the world).
I recently gifted my father a collection of shaving items for his birthday with a few products which was a great feeling to give back to my father something he once passed on to me.
I still have fond memories of my father giving me a blank razor and teaching me to shave as a child well before I had a beard.
Anyway I look forward to a beard free face and head full of knowledge and refinement.
Thanks everyone for reading.
