Here is an Email I sent to the head office of G.F. Trumper. The representative responded twice within twenty-four hours.
"Hello, I'm writing to let you know that I received the shaving soap samples you sent me a while back. Thank you very much. If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion, please forward this to the powers that be somewhere up the GFT hierarchy. Your company's Wild Fern cologne is considered by many to be the gold standard for a fougere fragrance. Adding a Wild Fern hard shaving soap to your line would be a great idea. The online shaving forum Badger and Blade (66,000 members worldwide) has had many threads and polls regarding this topic, and the demand is certainly there as lovers of the cologne want a matching soap fragrance that does not clash with it. I suspect that introducing a Wild Fern soap would also increase the sales of the cologne as many will add both to their online shopping cart. As GFT already makes a bath bar in this fragrance, perhaps the formula could be tweaked somewhat to bring it into the shaving line."
And here are the two responses I received:
" Thank you for your email and your considered suggestions. I will be forwarding it to the managing director. Kind regards, Jose Sreeraman."
And a few hours later:
" Your email has gone to our Managing Director who says this may be considered and will be looked into and discussed in the next board meeting"
I'm impressed that this rep was interested enough to forward the idea and actually reply twice to let me know. Pretty cool. Now I don't have the heart to tell him that since receiving a puck of Eucris I can't lather it to save my life. Since it appears that the door to Wild Fern shave soap has now been opened slightly, I think I'll leave well enough alone. If anyone else is having trouble lathering their hard soaps, at least we know the company is open to feedback from their customers. (little hint there)
