Hey all I just thought I'd introduce myself to the forum and after lurking on here and a few other forums I decided to focus my attention on this one since jumping around them all wouldn't be as beneficial as just getting myself involved more deeply in one community and you guys seem much more friendly and not the condescending, grumpy curmudgeons that I've seen elsewhere haha.
So I've only been wet shaving for two weeks now but I've just jumped in head first and bought everything that caught my attention. I'll list below what I have bought so far but I have to say I'm loving the change from using carts and canned shaving cream in the shower. Much more relaxing and enjoyable experience that I will be using the for the rest of my life (I'm 32 years old). I'll be focusing mostly on perfecting the safety razor shave but I'm still using my straight razor occasionally just to start to build up that skills as well. I'm loving the community and atmosphere here so far and can't wait to get involved and learn and then use that knowledge and experience to help others.
--Merkur 30c (using Astra Platinum blades)
--Grim Blades/Straight American 7/8" round tip
--Omega 10029 and 10048 boar brushes (just arrived today, was using a cheap synthetic from straightrazors.com)
--Grim Blades pre-shave oil/soap/aftershave (all in the smolder scent which I've fallen in love with)
--Gentleman Jon Alum Block (ordered today off Amazon after reading a thread on here about it since I only have a styptic pen so far)
That's the basics, also got one of those flat candle warmers to heat my lather bowls which is pleasant.
