Hello All,
I have only known shaving with disposiable cartridge razors but after starting to try and broaden my style horizons post college, I have come across wet shaving. I definitely am not a huge fan of cartridge razors, anything more than 2 or 3 and my hair gets caught too much, and causes irritation to my skin. I am now determined to get started wet shaving with safety razors, and from everything I have read I know I am going to love it. From the routine/ritual to the better result, I know I probably won't be going back to disposables.
I was hoping you guys could help me with the setup of the whole thing. I have read a bunch of different blogs, forums, and articles. They all seem to have similar suggestions for a starting razor EJ 89 or Merkur 34c, but I am still confused if there is a real difference in them and if one is better for certain types of people. Also the blogs, articles, and posts seem to go a 1,000 different directions for Brushes and Cream/Soaps.
My Questions:
1) Is buying a complete set a good idea? Does it provide value? Should I buy separately? Which are some of the better beginner sets, this seems to be the best prices to value ratio that I could find, but I am not familiar with a ton of online vendors or vendor quality.

Anyone have any better sets?
2) Obviously I don't definitively know if Im going to love it, but I have a good feeling about it. Would it be good to just buy better quality off the bat, so I don't want to upgrade right away if I like it? What are some products that combine quality and value?
Thanks for all your help.
**Apparently I was a little too excited to get started as I spelled the thread title wrong, apologies**
