Hi
:001_smileWas in Estes Park yesterday and a shop had Spinster Sisters Co hygiene products. Noticed a puck of Sandalwood shaving soap. The proprietor of the shop went on and on about how her son just loves this shaving soap. Naturally I had to buy one ($11). They also had some Spinster Sisters Co "kits" with an enamel mug, VDH brush and soap for $40.
Now for the rest of the story...
Tried it this morning.
:001_huh:#1 - no aroma. Smells like a plain tallow soap. Huh? Their web site claims it is 100% vegan. (Base ingredients - Olive, coconut, apricot, argan, castor, and sustainable palm oils, shea butter, glycerin, and bentonite clay. plus aromas)
:mad3:#2 - no lather. Guess it really is vegan. Tried various ways of getting it to lather to no avail. Got lots and lots of bubble bath suds. Dry, wet, bowl, palm, face, all the same results.
#3 - horrible shave. Yep, I was silly enough to try it anyway. Gotta be fast, "Lather" was disappearing on one side of my face while applying "lather" to the other side. Needless to say it was like dragging a rake across my face. Next two passes I switched to Vulfix to salvage things.
I have nothing against vegans, but why is ever vegan product I've tried, shaving or otherwise, next to lousy? Gotta get a better product if ya wanna convert the masses!
