Prêt-à-Porter
The simple days of my beloved Old Spice puck in my Aramis mug are long gone, and I’ve been back in the wet shaving game for a few months now. I’ve been sorta “playing the field” while searching for the next One. I wake up to a delightful choice one morning and then a completely different contestant the next, but still no single standout.
I still hear some of the guys talking about the old European stars - classic and dressed to match in finery like china or hand carved wood, but a lot of guys are eyeing a new generation of young "artistic" American beauties. Most of these young lovelies have curves (jars, that is..) that are plastic. They may be lightweights, but they smell so nice and they feel so soft and supple in your hands…
I mention this because I made a decision to transfer my Tabac to a plastic jar today. Here’s a German made to last, but that heavy white bowl was making me nervous each time I loaded my brush. I have a small bathroom, and something like that could easily crack a tile or even break the commode if it slipped out of my wet fingers! Why take the chance?
There may come a day when I find a single new love and buy her a more permanent home, but I’m having too much fun to be SSAD!
