Hello everyone,
I'm new to DE wetshaving and thought I'd introduce myself. I've been trying to teach myself the appropriate methods for several months now but I'm realizing I have a lot to learn. Right now I'm using a Merkur HD (I think) ... Taylor of Old Bondstreet Sandlewood soap, Musgo Real Lime Oil soap (for prep), Astra platinum blades and a Simpson Wee Scott brush.
I'm probably doing something wrong. I'm finding that the Wee Scott is leaving my face pretty raw after a lather application. I'm thinking I should have chosen a different first brush (maybe a small brush isn't such a good beginner brush?). After reading the section in this forum titled Choosing Your First Brush, I'm wondering if I should go with a Boar brush as a first beginner brush?
What do you think? What are some recommendations for a first Boar brush?
Also I don't know how to break in a Boar brush but I'm sure I'll be learning that here as this forum appears to have a ton of helpful information.
As you can tell, I have a lot of questions. I look forward to learning from all of you!
