Today we kick off what we hope to be a regular monthly feature here at B&B, a focus on one of the many great makers of shaving cream that often serve as the gateway drugs to this little hobby of ours. After years of canned goos and foams, we find a place like B&B and see that there are all of these great shaving creams that we've been missing. Among the most classic are 3 T's from England, so we kick off this series with:

Along with Truefitt & Hill and Geo F. Trumper, Taylor of Old Bond Street has been a mainstay of the great grooming houses of Great Britain for more than a century. With their shop still found in the St. James neighborhood near Buckingham Palace in the Westminster section of London, TOBS continues to uphold the great tradition of gentleman's grooming and offers all manner of products for shaving, hair and skin care. TOBS currently offers shaving creams in the following scents:

The scents between Sandalwood and Coconut are traditional scents, and most can be found represented in the other two T's in one form or another. Avocado is unique to TOBS, with a mild avocado scent, and what many consider to be exceptional performance. Mr. Taylor, Eton College and St. James each are house scents of Taylor, and are traditional English fragrances that the company has developed over its 150 years or so in operation. Jermyn Street is a more modern, aquatic scent, and is the fragrance of a line that was originally developed for those with sensitive skin. Natural is a brand new line introduced in 2014 that is fragrance free, contains all natural ingredients, and omits the traditional preservatives like parabens. Initial reports that I have seen suggest that it is an excellent performer. It should also be noted that they recently discontinued their "Shaving Shop" line and scent, and one may still be able to find it in brick and mortar stores (if you're lucky enough to have one nearby) and through traditional online vendors. Needless to say, but there may be a scent for just about everyone here.
