Good day all! I finally bit the bullet to join B&B, and am on the cusp of purchasing my first DE razor. I tried to go from carts. to a straight razor years ago, and frankly, did a piss poor job with it. Now I got that itch to bounce back and move to DE and save money in the process. The only issue is, what razor to get first.
I have been looking and researching, and it would seem that the EJ DE89 sounds to be the almost go to for new converts, with amazing plating to boot. I also have seriously considered the Merkur 38c since I do have the hands of a lineman. I have just been confused a bit in regards to the "aggressiveness" that is referred to with all of these razors, since wouldn't you be able to adjust for aggressiveness through your blade choice? My roommate is buying the EJ DE89, would I almost be better served to pick up a Merkur and then have the option to try em both? The more I think I learn, the more confusing it gets. Thanks for any advice and On Wisconsin!!
