Just getting into wet shaving. My DE safety razors hadn't arrived yet, so I decided to start with shaving soap and brush to at least learn that part first while just using my cartridge razor.
Picked up some Wilkinson Sword shaving soap at the drug store and a Wilkinson brush with the thought that I would upgrade later after I got better at it.
When I got home, I noticed that I also had a trial size of Kiss My Face shaving cream that I had purchased some time before not realizing that I would need a brush for it.
The Kiss My Face worked quite well, easy to lather. The Wilkinson worked ok, but I had to work harder to get good lather and it didn't seem to protect my face as well.
After this experiment, I decided that creams might work better for me so I ordered a Proraso Red shaving cream. It arrived before my razor did. So I decided to test it today. Lather was great and it seemed to protect better than the Kiss My Face. And I LOVED the feel of my face afterwards. My face just felt softer.
I can't wait to try it with the safety razor when it comes. I will try the Kiss My Face again to compare, but I am really pleased with the Proraso Red.
