So I'm starting to get into straights, and considering purchasing some lapping film. This seller on amazon sells sheets for a very reasonable price:

A full set 12-9-5-3-1-.3 (of which I may not use all the sizes, but at a buck a pop why not) of 9x13" sheets will run $12 shipped since shipping is combined, which seems very reasonable. He also sells 6x6 diamond sheets at about $6/sheet, which would come out to a bit under $50 shipped.
So my question is, about how many hones will the AlOX sheets last vs diamond? Is there any reason to pick diamond over AlOX with these prices (with the area of each sheet also being larger, meaning more strips) other than sexiness?
