Dubl Duck Restoration for a Newbie

Hello Gents,

Newbie here. Been reading around the forum for a couple months. Decided to give straight razor shaving a shot; I ordered my first straight razor week before last. Gold dollar cheapie... Wanted to try it out and see if I liked straight razor shaving before springing for an expensive blade. The experience was terrible! I bought it "shave ready" off eBay and I believe that it was anything but. It did look like it had been touched up with a hone but when I tried to shave with it just drug across my face more pulling hairs out them "cutting" them. Fortunately I did not cut myself as I only tried my upper face and did not dare attempt shaving my neck.

Anyway… Long story short before throwing in the towel based on an $18 razor I decided that I would give it one more shot. Get a quality blade and have a professional get me set up. Just ordered a strop from well shaved gentlemen (ordered beginners strop also). After combing eBay for preowned vintage razors that were in good shape I fell in love with the Dubl Duck Wonderedge razor. After reading around on the form in finding out that it was a very desirable razor, I decided I would find one in decent shape and try to have a professional restore it and make it shave ready. I figure if I go this route I can at least get back most of the money I have invested.

My question is, is there someone out there who would be willing to help me get this razor to a point that I can give it (and straight razor shaving in general) an honest effort? FWIW I have $112 invested in the razor. I felt like that was "pretty fair" considering it's in "okay" shape already (no nics in blade, no pitting, etc). Pictures of the razor are below.
