Just picked this up from a gentleman I've dealt with in the past. He actually sold me my first straight last year (and started the addiction ugh). It's a 7 day Joseph Haywood set. It belonged to a Dr. from my hometown who's family (I believe) are associates of my family (still needs to be verified with family). How it made it's way from Syracuse, NY to California i'm unsure of. The razors are all 11/16" with the barber notch. Unfortunately the thursday razor is missing (If anyone has/and or comes across one PLEASE let me know as I'd love to complete this.). 5 of the 6 razors are set in their original Ivory scales. The 6th razor had the scales replaced with bone (Obviously Ivory is no longer available.). There are some faults with the set. Besides the new scales and missing razor, the saturday razor's scales have a chip missing from them by the pivot pin (of course in ivory :angry:). The sunday razor has a secured visual crack running horizontal in a scale. There is some tarnish on a couple of the blades that should clean up. The wednesday razor has tarnish and also a rust spot that unfortunately on the bevel however I was assured that it is only surface rust and should hone off the blade (crossing fingers).
Overall I'm very happy with this pickup and hopefully with some spit and polish and little luck I can get this set complete and shave ready. That chip and missing razor are bugging me though, damnit.
