Forgive me if this is a repeat, my google-fu is very weak today.
My grandmother gave me my great-grandfathers straight and I was looking for some info on it. It is made by Thomas Mfg Co, in Dayton Ohio, and has "THE THREE PRESIDENTS" on the front. Is this a decent razor that is worth bringing back to life? I wold love to be able to shave with something that has been in my family for a long time.
She told me that the razor was used nearly every day and when my great-grandfather could no longer shave with it he put it away. But when he came to her house he would bring it and my grandpa would strop it up, and shave him in the kitchen. She said that every time he came, it would never fail that he would get a shave. I remember my grandpa telling me before I started shaving, "Boy, if you ever get the chance, get a barber to give you a shave with an ol' cut throat razor. There is nothing like it."
I would love to get this thing singing again. I would appreciate any info anyone has. Any leads on a resto/honemiester near me that might be able to help would be helpful also. I am just north of LA, Cali.
Sorry for it being long winded.
