My elderly mother moved in with me several years ago. A couple times a month, while I was at work, she had to shoo away the "faithful" who were going door-to-door to "spread the good news". This led me to (with all do respect to the Five Man Electrical Band) get a nice all-weather metal sign stating "Private Property, No Religious Soliciting" with a Bible prohibited graphic which I placed out at the entrance to my driveway. This sign has totally been effective.
