I was on the north side of Chicago this morning running some errands and I found myself right by Merz. I hadn't really planned on stopping (my wife likes to go here with me, and we'll be back in Lincoln Square in a few weeks), but what the hey, it had been a fun morning so far (coffee from Intelligentsia, music from Reckless Records, smoked brisket from Todd's BBQ) so I parked and ambled over.
This was the sight that greeted me;

Yep, Merz now carries Myrsol AND Floid products!
I'd never had the chance to try any of the Floids or Myrsols in person, and I'm not a fan of spending good money online for something I might not like (Formula K being an exception), and Floid and Myrsol ain't exactly cheap. Luckily everything had tester bottles!
Right away I found out that none of the Floids worked for me--bummer, because I really wanted to try Vigaroso and Blue (which came as an EDT :001_huh:, never seen that before) the scents were just okay, way too powdery.
Of the Myrsols Formula C was a keeper, and I had a hard time catching the scents of Agua Balsamica, Metisol and Formula F/Extra. Blue was okay, Plastic and Limon not so much.
As I'm geeking out over all this one of the clerks comes over and tells me they also started carrying Fine aftershaves--NOW I'm in trouble. As I'm trying those outI look up and see a whole bunch of Semogue brushes! They never carried ANY of this stuff before! Merz is expanding into the vacant store next door, where they will have all their Men's products, so hopefully there will be more to come.
I ended up getting the Myrsol Formula C and a bottle of Fine American Blend. The owner rang me up and he was pleased with my choices and my enthusiastic feedback.
