So, I received a brand new Dovo 6/8 full hollow carbon, had a fun shave. I was nervous about nicking my first strop, so I went ahead on newspaper. no irritation, almost DFS.
Here's the thing. It felt like it was tugging. I'm told by Vintage Blades the razor was honed "professionally" by Lynn Abrams, so I went to strop just now, 20 felt side / 50 leather.
Not only did I just nicked my strop (I'm supposed to--got it)... I plucked a hair from my head to see if it would cut...
Nada. Like the hair passed along the edge with no cutting.
Did I just ruin my edge? What's happening? Is it that easy for a straight razor to loose it's grip? Do I have to send this thing out all ready? All ready???
Feeling kind of discouraged.
