In another area of B&B a kind soul offered a PIF that spoke to me - an Eversharp Symphony set. True to the spirit of the PIF I admitted I do not have a classic pen (nor can I remember ever using one) and I am interested in trying it. I mean why not ... I am shaving with a straight, I seek out new soaps, next thing you know I'll be smoking a pipe and wearing tweed. :blushing: But it sounds like a nice thing, and it does go handily with something I like to remember to do in the office - give hand-written thank-you cards. I did learn cursive in school but my handwriting is atrocious so it will be interesting to re-learn. I've found a good many links here so there's no want of material.
I have read a bunch this evening and have learned a lot. The choice of pen is made for me removing one hurdle some people have. The pen will not come with ink so I need to find some, or more correctly choose one. I have seen the ink review threads and honestly that's WAY too much information. I thought maybe if I told you all what I thought it should do, someone here could recommend an ink to try?
I don't want black - every pen I have has black ink. I like black but since the pen is different I think the ink should be. I've seen some examples (but don't know what the ink was) of a dark sepia that looked very cool. It should look olde timey. It has to work well in the pen I will be receiving. It should also not have any negative characteristics that make people say "oh, yeah, that was a bad one to start with."
So, any recommendations?
