Bought myself a Bismarck after a lot of hunting, partly on the basis of good reviews and partly because it looks lovely.
First time shaving with anything other than a cartridge, always ends up with them ripping my face to shreds and giving me spots so I try not to shave. Hoping this is going to make shaving a pleasure and so far I've loved it.
Been using it "from the box" and found that by shave 4 it was predictably catchy so time to strop was well overdue. No strop yet (been looking at reviews) so used my leather belt which has a fairly soft suedey side.
Problem 1, impatient to try it when no soap had arrived I tried it with canned gel. //big// mistake. This has dissolved the gold off the scales and spread it over them. You live and learn.
Problem 2, stropping on the belt I found I was concentrating on the belt too much and caught a glimpse of the edge being flexed as I was using too much pressure :( trying to determine if I have damaged it.
