We signed up for a weekly produce delivery from one of the local growers. We get whatever fresh produce is available, and yesterday was the first day of the season. We got a quart of strawberries, 3 bundles of asparagus (probably 4 or 5 meals), 2 bunches of green onions and some KOHLRABI.
This was a first for us. Ended up slicing it, tossed it with a little olive oil, sprinkled with just a litle kosher salt and fresh ground pepper and on to the grill (which is how we do a lot of veggies in the summer). Flavor is very similar to a radish. Apparently it is in the cabbage family so I plan shred some with some cabbage for slaw.
Anyone else ever use kohlrabi. Other recipes?
