Any advantages to gold plated razors?

Or disadvantages, for that matter? Other than the obvious benefit (detriment?) of looking like a tiny pimp cane :biggrin1:



I've got my eye on either a Merkur HD or Edwin Jagger in gold for my next purchase, mostly because I want a gold razor in my bathroom, but if there is anything else I ought to know about this potentially foolish decision, I'd love to hear it.
