Short version - I have my 24/45mm Whipped Dog silvertip. Deskunked with some shampoo, some residual scent.
So, my question deals with soaking . . . I've read that some people don't soak but simply get the bristles wet, some people soak for as long as it takes to get your razor and soap out, and some people soak for a few minutes (shower time or similar).
I realize that this is YMMV and that different people prefer different things, but I wanted to know if not soaking is actually bad for the brush (in terms of bristle breakage and longevity, which I didn't find after a search of B&B threads). My understanding is that boar absorbs water and needs it to soften, so not soaking may lead to broken bristles. Badger, by contrast, doesn't absorb water and can be used without soaking although it may perform differently if soaked.
Am I correct in thinking that not soaking will not hurt a badger brush?
