I've had some really great customer service since I started wet shaving, with Dave, of Restored Razors, Daz, at JEC Handles, Larry, at Whipped Dog, Mike, at Mike's Natural Soaps, and even an e-bay seller in Moscow all having gone out of their way to help me. Many other businesses have also been easy to deal with and responded quickly to orders, like Connaught and the Shaving Shack. All these I would gladly deal with again, and probably will.
However, I can't say the same for Martin de Candre. Several inquiries to this firm, in both English and French (the latter not brilliant, but I think understandable) have failed to elicit a response. Granted it's a small firm and probably has a full order book, but so are several of the others I mentioned above, yet they have the courtesy to reply promptly, and sometimes engage in a lengthy e-mail conversations. It just rankles, somehow, and puts me off MdC's products.
