I started out with a nice broad cappucino mug for lathering, then swapped that for a broad, low sauce jug. I've tried out various things to see if they were good for lathering in but recently I re-purposed this:

Which only cost a few pounds and is perfect for holding 8 razors in rotation. I would still prefer something in metal or wood like a test tube rack, but this is very good for now.
I looked at toothbrush holders, but none were as straightforward as this. Do you have any items that really shouldn't be in the bathroom serving duty in the cause of your shaves?
