Newbie Check in! Greetings!

Hello all! I've been enjoying this site for a months now and decided to join. I guess the best place to start is equipment right?



Equipment:

Razor: Parker 91R heavyweight

Blade: Currently on a pack of Astra blades from a variety pack off amazon.

Gel: Gillette Fusion (Trying to use up a giant pack I was given before I switch to something else)

Brush and Bowl: Unknown. My wife purchased a set from a western type event our city puts on.



History:

I got into this all while I was in college. To be honest, it was a money thing. While browsing Amazon I saw that I could buy a pack of 100 blades for around $10. The nostalgia, and yes... cool factor, were perks. I started out with a Parker Butterfly DE razor. Been DE shaving ever since (6+ years now).



What I hope to get from this?

I'm really looking for people who are into the DIY stuff. I'm very interested in making my own shaving gels, soaps, aftershaves, etc. I'm also here just to learn more about shaving technique, equipment, reviews, etc.
