I just did a bit of google searching on DE razors that work well for tough beard hairs and the Merkur Slant Bar seems to come highly recommended. The only problem is that it sounds incredibly aggressive and dangerous in unskilled hands with its angled blade capable of taking off skin like a bacon slicer.
I've only been DE wet shaving for 3 months and my Merkur Classic 33C is nice enough but really struggles to cut my adamantium beard and deliver a close shave especially on the neck. I often find I need to go over the same area more times than my skin can handle (or apply more pressure than I should) to achieve a decent result.
I'm fairly confident in my technique and steady hand so is the slant bar something I should be considering or am I walking into a world of hurt?
