I've been reading lots of different things about stropping on newsprint and whether it works or not.
The consensus seems to be that it's very slow and only produces an effect on an already finished edge but can give nice results.
A bit of research reveals that the aggregate particle size of the carbon black used in newpaper ink is 0.2u - 0.8u, which explains why soot was sometimes used as a strop paste and also why newsprint might make a good (but slow) final finisher after the 0.5u CrOx.
I'm trying it myself, so has anybody else got experience with this?
