Hi all, new DE shaver, just finished my first week of shaving with a safety razor. I started with a vintage Gillette 3-piece open comb razor but switched to a RazoRock Jaws for the last few shaves.
This evening's shave was BBS and the closest shave I've ever had, though there is some irritation and a few scrapes. I remembered after the first pass and a half that I hadn't switched the Lord blade out for one of the Feathers that had just arrived. The difference was amazing, a completely different sound and far less resistance while cutting. The side I switched to the Feather on during the XTG pass has very little irritation, while the side that got two full passes with the Lord is much more irritated. I'm going to wait until Friday or Saturday for the next shave to make sure the irritation is healed so that I can evaluate my technique better.
I'm also trying to decide on a preshave, my skin is fairly sensitive so I'm trying to steer clear of heavily scented stuff.
