Today I shimmed my DE89 with one trimmed old blade and the resulting shave was less than desirable, with several nicks and a few weepers. I also had razor burn in areas that I normally don't get razor burn. I was trying to get the same results as the Gillette Tech 1932 Canadian I've been using. The only thing I changed was the razor. I did get a DFS shave but painful, I'm wondering why? Does shimming change the razor that much?
