I am looking for a learning experience.
Please recommend a rotation of 3 or more soaps/creams which would provide the following (listed in no particular order of priority):
(a) Experience in the different types of products (glycerine vs tallow vs non-tallow vs etc)
(b) Gentle affect on face with faster rather than slower softening of the beard, few nicks, and soft skin after shaving.
(c) A variety of scents to smell while shaving
Although I have been enjoying wet shaving for a few years now with the Omega version of Proraso green and a Gentleman Jon alum block, I would enjoy a rotation of a variety of a few scents throughout each month. Usually shaving once every two days, a few days a month I am in need of a quick shave for unexpected events between shaves and am pressed for time because of remembering to shave as an afterthought so cannot properly soften the beard by showering or using a warm wet towel for a few minutes on the face.
Reading the archives, Mama Bear is said to be a glycerin soap offering a wide variety of scents. Would this be a good starting point, and if yes which ones to try first as a learning experience ?
I assume for soft skin a brand/product with shea butter might be suggested in the rotation ?
Also reading the archives, the soaps/creams of Pre de Provence are regarded as very good but "under-rated" compared to the more often mentioned products. Perhaps as a separate question from the rotation, which PdP product is most popular within the brand ?
So many products to choose from !
