Hi there fellow Clubhouse members, and welcome to my progress thread! I'll get right to it - it has come to my attention that I turn 30 in just over 1,200 days, meaning it's time to get to work!
I'm in a great spot right now - in the past two years I have gotten engaged and married, moved halfway across the country for my wife's medical school, started a new job, and adopted a 90 lb. black lab. Things are going well on the home front, but I am striving for some personal growth. Historically (and forward-looking), physical fitness is one of the foundations for my progress.
So this is my 30 year summit challenge because my goal is to climb a mountain (literally or figuratively) before my 30th birthday, some 1,200 days away. I've always been fascinated by mountain climbing, grew up in Boy Scouts, and love everything outdoors, which explains the "summit challenge". Now onto the workout portion - I competed in athletics throughout my youth and into my college years. My physical fitness (and knees!) has regressed since those glory days... Graduating high school, I was 5'8" 150, and I now come in about 20 lbs. lighter due to muscle loss. The foundation of my climb preparation is cardio and anaerobic exercise, healthy eating, and positive family time. By the time this challenge ends I plan to have climbed a mountain or put myself in the position to physically be able to, with the support of my family.
So I guess that's it, time to start climbing (Mt. Aconcagua looks nice in photos).
