Hi, guys -
I understand, philosophically, why Badger & Blade would want to keep Kickstarter or crowdfunding from the site. B&B has never been “for profit,” and tries to keep its mission clear.
The situation with Rockwell razors is a little more complicated.
Rockwell seems to be in a permanent fundraising mode. While the 6S razor is currently being sold online, the “Model T” - their TTO model - is being crowdfunded by Kickstarter and Indiegogo.
B&B’s current strategy is rational: set up a Rockwell discussion thread in Shave of the Day/Clubs & Brotherhoods/Rockwell Razor Club. That way, at least the Rockwell 6S can get some discussion while the to-be-released Model T is being manufactured.
There are two potential problems with this. I discovered one accidentally. If you’re not a B&B member, “Clubs & Brotherhoods” doesn’t appear in the SOTD sub-forum. This sub-forum can’t been viewed in a browser’s “private mode.”
The main issue, however, is simpler. The Rockwell 6S is a fully funded SKU, as are Rockwell blades. But while Rockwell blades are discussed in "Safety Razors/Safety Razor Blades," the Rockwell 6S razor, unaccountably, is stuck in the Clubs & Brotherhoods sub-forum.
It'd be nice to see the Rockwell 6S back in the "Safety Razor" forum.
