Cast the blank tuesday & finished today. This sucker gave me all kinds of trouble but I beat it into submission. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good finish on the collar, there are some very clear sanding lines. I finish the cup & collar then chuck it by the collar using expansion jaws & shape the rest. It got scratched during sanding and I just couldn't get to it with the jaws in the way. Too bad because the blank is pretty cool, it reminds me of the molten metal blank that Rockler sells. Why they call it that I have no idea. Maggard's synthetic knot, 24mm x 54mm loft. This is my first synthetic, I'll post a review in the Maggards synthetic thread after I use it a bit.
