I got a jar of Suavecito shaving soap and used it for the first time this morning. I was expecting it to be a croap (that's what it looks like in the jar) but when I stuck my tiny spoon in it to transfer some to my shaving scuttle, I discovered that it was a soft cream—really much more the consistency of the kind of cream you'd find in a tube.
For some reason, I've never really cottoned to that sort of cream, but I have to say I like this particular product. The lather was easy and plentiful, and the scent is pleasing. It's a subtle peppermint kind of scent. And subtle here doesn't necessarily mean "weak"—just understated.
I enjoyed the shave, but got quite a sting at the end from my AS splash. I used this soap at the tail-end of a blade's life, so I'll attribute the extra sting to irritation caused by the blade.
Anybody else familiar with Suavecito shaving products? I'll try this again with a new blade and see if the sting is repeated. If not, then I could see this one becoming a staple. Ingredients listed: Water, glycerin, stearic acid, propylene clycol, lanolin, propylene glycol stearate, potassium hydroxide, fragrance, D&C red #9 & sodium borate. (Not the most encouraging list I've ever seen.)
