Bob's Razor Works (BRW) Custom "Improved" Handle & Chrome-Plated Gillette Long Comb NEW Razor Head
In 2012, I commissioned this custom razor from Bob Smith (AKA cooncatbob) of Bob's Razor Works. Bob has since passed on, but his fantastic craftsmanship continues. Bob specialized in custom handles for razors and was well-known and well-respected in the wet-shaving community.
The handle for this razor is machined from a solid piece of brass, 3.5" long, with a rounded butt end, and a brilliant, heavy chrome plating. Bob called this particular style the "Improved" handle. It is matched with a vintage (1930s) Gillette Long Comb "NEW" cap and base plate. The NEW is also chrome plated and looks better than anything that came from the Gillette factory. The NEW razor is considered by many to be the best-performing razor ever manufactured by Gillette.
The handle weighs 61 grams. The combination of the handle and the razor head is 90 grams.
This razor has been gently used and is in excellent condition with no nicks, scratches, plating loss, or other flaws.
The only reason I'm selling this razor is because I find the handle a bit heavy and it's not getting used regularly. It's time to move this beauty on to someone who can make better use of it.
